Cannot get Internet Connection error message "DNS not responding

Original title:DNS not responding 
My internet connection has suddenly stopped working since yesterday.
When I try to troubleshoot, I get the message that DNS server is not responding.
I can get my connection to work if I connect myself directly to my internet access, but whenever I use my
router (cable or wifi) internet becomes unavailable and I get the DNS not responding message.
I have not installed anything lately on my computer and windows 7 has not done any updates in the last few days.
I even tried a new router and it will also not work.
I tried a few solutions found online but nothing has worked.
Can anyone please help me?

Method 2: Reset TCP/IP

Method 3: Flush your computer's DNS cache.
 
a)      Go to start and type
cmd.
b)      Right-click on cmd from the programs list and select “Run as administrator”.
c)       Type ipconfig /flushdns.

                A message will appear saying that your DNS cache is cleared.
Start Second Life.
It should run fine
             this time.
d)      Type ipconfig /registerdns
 This command refreshes all DHCP address leases and registers all related DNS names configured and used by the client computer.
 
Method 4: Update your Network Adapter driver.
Update the network adaptor drivers from the manufacturer’s website.

Open Action Center by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, and then, under System and Security, clicking Review your computer's status.
