broadcom network adapter 802.11g stopped working after trying to fix 'unknown device' in Device Manager
It may be a coincidence but my Broadcom network adapter 802.11g stopped working after trying to fix 'unknown device' in Device Manager (It was working perfectly before this).
OS: Windows 7 Starter on 'BenQ Joybook Lite U105'.
I tried the Windows Network trouble shooter and it didn't work (saying there may be a problem with the driver.
I uninstalled the driver and re-installed it (including a possibly newer one) and it didn't work.
Within 'Network Connections" the Broadcom wireless adapter is shown as 'disabled' I R-clicked to enable it, a window popped up saying it was enabled but it still showed as being disabled.
My feeling is that something is preventing it from being enabled, logically,
I would guess.
Also went to 'Component Services' and ether started or restarted everything with the word network on it still no luckAny suggestions? My Google search on an other pc , now on day 3, couldn't find anything.
(BTW the 'unknown device' which according
to the icon, seems to be the joybook itself, is still not fixed and still listed as 'unknown device').
OS: Windows 7 Starter
Thank you
Mich
Solutions to the Problem broadcom network adapter 802.11g stopped working after trying to fix 'unknown device' in Device Manager
Hello again,
Are you running Zone Alarm in addition to the Windows Firewall?
And then are you also running Avast Anti-Virus as well?
I would attempt to completely remove Zone Alarm for the purpose of testing the connection.
You can run the removal tool located here:
http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/free/support/download/clean.exe (since you're unable to get online, download it on another computer, if possible, and then
transfer it to your computer via a USB thumb drive or blank CD/DVD)
After removing Zone Alarm, restart your computer, then attempt to re-install your drivers and re-test your connection.
Running System Update Readiness Command
On running the System Update readiness Command, it will Detect & Replace Incorrect Registry data with the Correct one. Which may ultimately Solve broadcom network adapter 802.11g stopped working after trying to fix 'unknown device' in Device Manager in Windows.
